By far this seems to be the greenest solution to sick building syndrome, a common malady caused by smelling or non-smelling airborne pollutants in old buildings. A German company called Blücher Technologies has the developed Saratech Permasorb wallpaper which absorbs pollutant particles from the air. The unique wallpaper made from glass fiber/polyester nonwoven paper is embedded with thousands of tiny spherical absorbers that branch out into passages.
The spheroids absorb and store pollutants like PCB, PCP, pesticides, and radon from the very air we breathe thereby cleaning it. The wallpaper absorbs from both the sides which means it can also soak up chemical pollutants out of the walls making it easier to clean up old buildings.
