Green stadiums, green technologies and sustainable FanFests: all joined forces to make FIFA World Cup 2010 a truly green event. While nine international soccer teams featured in environmentally friendly jerseys made from recycled plastic bottles, the green fever is now going past South African boundaries to overwhelm the Barclays Premier League. Arsenal is the latest team to don the recycled kit from Nike.
Nike produced the kit under its ‘Considered Design’ program. The shirts and shorts are made from recycled polyester made from plastic bottles discarded in Japan and Taiwan.
