When we read people going the green way and recycling metal pieces and wood etc., we think almost anyone can do that. Who dares to be different? Well, if you look at Kate MccGwireâs recycled feather sculptures, you would simply be forced to think again. With her art work, she has created undulating pieces of art forms, which twist and turn in a rhythm, capable to turn you on as well.
Using feathers which would have otherwise just been thrown away, she managed to recreate such wild fantasies. By approaching pigeon racing enthusiasts, she was able to collate her basic raw material, mainly feathers. Using the feathers of not just one species but a multitude of birds, Kate was able to lend a different look to her masterpieces. Crows, pigeons, magpies or any bird you can think about, she has done it all. Not only these different colored feathers lend a beautiful look to the creations, it even helps in creating elegant caricatures. Kate has used 10000 bird feathers for her scintillating art work.
The artist has patiently collected the feathers, and like a bird preens its wings, Kate has collected, cleaned and sorted the feathers. Realizing that her work is not easy, she knows how much more efforts she needs to put in while making her sculptures. Itâs commendable the way her efforts have been paid off. She has ended up creating some really pleasurable eye appealing structures.
You have to look at the photos of her creations to believe it for yourself.
