Think about bamboo and the first thought which comes into our mind is sturdy furniture, chairs, tables and of course, unimaginable strength. But, then thinking out of the box is a challenge not many people like to take up. But for those who do, they prove their worth by giving everyone food for thought. The same has been done by artists Watson and Tina Sedonne. They have created an amazing piece of designer bamboo trees with LED bulbs out for leaves. The green aspect has majorly been the use of bamboo to create these magnificent pieces of art.
These disco lamps are a-state-of-the-art lamps. Fitted expertly with LEDs as lamps (Thanks to Bill Watson), the bamboo shoots have been expertly sculpted and designed so as to emit different shades of light. May it be red, blue, green or white, you name it and you have that shade of light in the tree. The bamboo trees have been developed to be showcased in the upcoming Light in the Bottle Festival in Silverado, California. Just by looking at the trees, one can assume the design would be a hit amongst the crowds.
They say it’s a pleasure to listen to the tunes of the whispering trees at night. If the trees have been blessed with light, then it will not be an audio treat but a visual one as well. The leaves have been fitted with LED’s on the inside while the outside has been crafted out of laser etched plexiglass. Further, these LED’s have been mounted on sculpted bamboo shafts creating the final product. The control reins are in the hands of a computer which regulate the lighting patterns of the bamboo shafts. The design is a fantabulous idea and has been crafted with extreme care and precision. Of course it took time to give shape to the whole idea but once it was conceived, it came out to be an eye pleaser.
Here’s looking forward to more of such designs from the duo. Such things are always preferred over the other usual designs for they give a break to the monotony.
