European Union is losing its biodiversity at an alarming rate. Although the Union has made a target of combating the loss of biodiversity by 2010, it fears that climate change may stand as an obstacle in reaching the target, a British government report says.
The report was published on Wednesday. According to it, climate change is affecting wild plants and animals in Europe alarmingly, and there was compelling scientific evidence enough to prove it.
Several species are already under threat of this climate change. The report warned that further shifts of climate zones and rising sea levels would create more pressure on the already threatened species. According to the report, European administrations need to take a more integrated approach to conserve the deterioration biodiversity.
