Tanzania has always had numerous real stories and mysteries to narrate. Keeping this fact in mind, Arup Innovation, Foresight and Incubation along with developers Habitaem envisioned an eco-resort of the future that is designed on a range of design scenarios. The Eco Resort of the Future Project weaves the visitors’ needs and desires and the physical structures into short audio-visual stories. For instance, the “day in the life” scenario depicted in these pictures was built around a young Chinese Kind called Choy, who is from Hangzhou and just knows the urban jungle.
Why he is here is because he is a digital gaming freak and gets the opportunity to playfully find his way back to real activities. This eco-resort comprises of an underwater lower floor that promises mesmerizing view of the sea life in the bay, while providing cool temperatures. Choy’s parents live in a two-floor hub in the bay of Mikindani. Another scenario is that of a playhouse, where kids gather to play in the real world. They are instructed about their day mission and solve missions in reality, instead of virtually. Isn’t the idea of bringing a scenario to life in the form of an eco-resort out-of-the-box?
