A large sheet of wax paper
One Big rubber band
A large oatmeal container or a similar sized unused container

How to make a DIY drum for kids
Take the oatmeal container or any other container that you are planning to use for the project and just completely strip it off of all branding papers. Clean and dry the container before using. You don’t need the top of the container any longer so you can put that away for other craft projects.
Before you put the drum together, you need to decorate its exterior. You can ask your kids to draw and paint on it or you can just go mess-free and paste glued back stickers of your kids’ favorite cartoon characters on it.
Once the base of the DIY music drums is finished, you need to place it upside down, with its top opening down onto the sheet of wax paper. Using a marker, you need to trace a circle on the wax paper. Then place the drum aside and draw a wider circle onto the wax paper leaving roughly 5-8 inches of space between the two. Cut the paper at the outer circle.
Then place this paper on top of the prepared container using the smaller circle as a marker. Use the large rubber band to affix the wax paper to the container. You may need to adjust the paper and the rubber band to get the desired tension on the surface. If you want, you can paint circles on the face of the music drums, and your kids will love playing their new drum with old chopsticks all the same.
