Take the oatmeal container or any other container that you are planning to use for the project and just completely strip it off of all branding papers. Clean and dry the container before using. You don’t need the top of the container any longer so you can put that away for other craft projects.

Before you put the drum together, you need to decorate its exterior. You can ask your kids to draw and paint on it or you can just go mess-free and paste glued back stickers of your kids’ favorite cartoon characters on it.

Once the base of the DIY music drums is finished, you need to place it upside down, with its top opening down onto the sheet of wax paper. Using a marker, you need to trace a circle on the wax paper. Then place the drum aside and draw a wider circle onto the wax paper leaving roughly 5-8 inches of space between the two. Cut the paper at the outer circle.

Then place this paper on top of the prepared container using the smaller circle as a marker. Use the large rubber band to affix the wax paper to the container. You may need to adjust the paper and the rubber band to get the desired tension on the surface. If you want, you can paint circles on the face of the music drums, and your kids will love playing their new drum with old chopsticks all the same.

Why don’t you add a guitar to your drum?

A drum alone might not be enough for you. Therefore, if you want to give your creativity much higher wings, then why not add a guitar to it. Here’s an innovative guitar concept that you can take inspiration from.

Eco-friendly Guitar by Praxis Guitars

Praxis Guitars recycles discarded materials to make guitars

Praxis Guitars has proved that you can make music from just about anything! Made using CNC routers, Praxis Zero is the ultimate find for musicians who are looking for a guitar that reflects them. Build around a central module, Praxis Zero allows its users to attach the central body of a guitar to any handy object for achieving a desired sound or effect. The best part, however, is that it is custom manufactured, and this brings down its price remarkably in comparison to its competitors.

The artist:

Praxis Guitars began as a personal project for Andrew Benson. He wanted to design a guitar that met the optimal needs of musicians. By 2011, his passion had grown into a company that builds bridges between designers and musicians. With this achievement, Benson’s pet project is now associated with many innovative techniques. Today, the guitars are available in an overwhelming array, with a variety of bodies and in several styles. Most of these designs are indeed praiseworthy because they are made as much as possible from sustainable and recycled materials .

The inspiration:

Needless to say, Praxis Guitar’s growth is based on the fact that the guitar can now be designed to best suit the requirements of musicians.
Its markedly futuristic thinking is also apparent in its eco-friendly nature. Each customized product comes with a message: The future lies in a unique, caring design that does not compromise in quality even as it becomes pocket and environment friendly.

The material:

Praxis Guitars’ vision is embedded not only in its design but also in its business model. Most of the electronic components of the company’s product are within one plate. These plates can be attached to different necks and bodies. Each of these plates are created keeping the concepts of recycling in mind. Therefore, they work even on salvaged, discarded materials. Imagine creating a guitar out of an old notebook! And when you are done with a particular design, all you have to do is replace the module on to a different neck and body of your choice.

The artwork :

The adaptable nature of this product has naturally led to a progression of instruments that are striking in appearance even as they are micromanaged to meet every requirement of its owner. This brilliant and innovative plan will now to be used by the company. It would help them create a community of designers and musicians who can take the idea to the next level. Helping the luthier community grow, Praxis Guitar’s hopes to release the technology behind their design in the summer of 2011. Their aim is thus to encourage participation and cooperation between musicians and instrument builders.

Green aspects:

The company, while helping to deal with flaws that are inherent in guitars by using this adaptable guitar design, is more emphatic on the ‘green’ aspects of the makeup. A constant part of fairs and exhibitions across the world, Praxi Guitars’ dream of a collaborative community will be achieved with its promised release of information in the summer of 2011. However, so far, the company manages to create eye catching designs using bolts and wood. The jagged looking guitar is unique in style while providing answers to musicians’ sound-based woes.
