Recently again, a city planner along with another companion have spotted a female ivory-billed near Cotton Plant swooped off in the sky behind an oncoming truck, while they were driving.

The city planner, Davis said in a telephone interview from his office in McCrory,

I saw something come off the tree, like the truck has spooked it,” Davis said in a telephone interview from his office in McCrory. “It came by again and it had its wing span out and it just kind of glided back into the woods, and I said ‘Is that what I think it is?

According to Davis, the ivory-billed woodpecker was a female as the bird had a black head and body with the tip of its feathered-wing colored white with no red. He concluded onto it, as the male ivory-billed has a red crest and he has attended workshops about identifying an ivory-billed woodpecker.
