Treat Bucket
Use a quart-size plastic food container with a lid. Poke small holes in the lid and base. Then, fill it with treats of a similar size to the holes. Your pup can roll around the container and try to get them out! If you want to secure the lid, you can use duct tape to hold it in place.
Puzzle Ball
Cut a tennis ball along one side of the white seam. Place a couple of non-perishable treats inside, then tuck the flap into the other side of the seam. The rubber will help keep it in place, but with chewing and ingenuity your pup will get the treats out! The ball can be re-filled, or tossed once it’s been chewed to pieces.
Ball Toss
Wrap a t-shirt around a ball, and seal off one edge with tight rubber bands. Then, cut the section that hangs off to create a fringe. Perfect to toss and play with, on repeat!
2-in-1 Toy & Treat
Knot old dish towels together to create a rope. Core a sweet potato through the center, then slice it so that each piece has a hole in the center. Use a dehydrator to dry out the sweet potato slices, or bake them in the oven at 250° F for 3 hours. Finally, string the pieces onto the dish-towel rope, and tie it off at each end. Your dog will have a delicious chew toy, and a long-lasting treat!
Denim Toy
Instead of tossing your worn-out jeans, turn them into a fun, durable chew toy you can use for fetch and tug-of-war. Lay the jeans out flat, and make two marks along each ankle, dividing each leg into 3 even sections. Cut through both layers of fabric from the ankle to the base of the waistband, so you end up with 3 double-layered strips on each leg. Braid each set of strips from top to bottom, keeping the layers together. Loop one braided leg through the belt loops on the waistband. Wrap the other braided leg around your circular dog toy several times, then knot it to itself to create a handle.
