I have a 1999 Arctic Cat 400 4×4 ATV. I had it running good and on idle, then the engine died. I turned on the ignition switch off then on, and to start but there was nothing. In fact the light that shows neutral would not light and neither would the headlight. I checked the battery (6 months old) with a volt ohm meter and it was discharged. A week later, I installed a new battery and got it to run good. However, after a few minutes of idling, the engine died and all the electrical shut off again as described above. I immediately removed the battery and tested the voltage, it was 12.7 volt. I hesitate to reinstall it for fear of ruining it. What could be my problem? Why my ATVâs engine keeps on dying although I am using new batteries?
