DUNN Urban Communal Space – The need of the hour

DUNN

Have you been facing a constant space crunch when it comes to parking your bike somewhere around the house? Does your group of friends often has the need to sit and chat together while keeping their bikes locked up at a place that is close to where they take a break, but still do not get enough space? Now, you do not need to worry about such communal space problems as designer John Bridge has come up with a unique sculpture that can easily handle space issues in an urban setting. This exclusive product is DUNN – Urban Communal Space, which is a single-piece spacing unit that can serve multiple requirements for various purposes! Seems to be an interesting concept you would wish to know more about? Then, check out the following features of this multipurpose unit.

This very attractive Urban Communal Space has been carved out of a single and solid piece of concrete that is steel-reinforced. Thus, due to being constructed using such strong concrete piece, this city center sculpture is functional enough to provide durability and good tactile strength. On one side of this sculpture, a chair-like seating structure has been carved out, while on the other side, two seating structures have been carved out that are in the shape of two attached stools without back and appear to be in a wavy pattern. In the middle of these side structures, there exists a bike rack that could solve all your parking and locking problems.

Seating structures on the Urban Communal Space have maple wood bars fixed on the seats. There is high-gloss wood that is used on the white sculpture in order to provide a contrasting effect to the whole unit and make it look more comfortable. The bike rack is constructed in the form of a space for the tires to enter that is protected from both sides by two small pillars. While two tubes run through each pillar width-wise, these offer enough security and comfortable space for a chain or D lock to pass through them. Also, it has been taken care of that these tubes minimize the damage that could be caused due to the frequent use of bike rack, or due to chaining or locking up the bikes over and over again. Rubber grommets of high density have been fixed at both sides of each tube so these could prevent the bike rack structure from getting scratched or damaged.

The whole piece of sculpture with comfy seats and a simple bike rack appears to be so elegant that nobody would find it a fuss to park their bikes and rest on it. The shaped-up concrete gives the structure such a smooth and nice white finish that you would not be able to stay away from relaxing on it. This complete unit not only suits the modern urban need for stylish and compact products, but also allows easy maintenance and usage flexibility. You may place such a structure in your backyard and enjoy the privileges it offers.
