In popular culture, the most accurate depiction of what a remote controlled buggie with a camera on top can do was featured in the third installment of the popular Home Alone movie series. Shown off at the Nurnberg Toy Fair, the H-ROVER is a little tracked vehicle that boasts of a super-capacitor system and a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell based powertrain that frees you from the obligation of buying batteries in bulk. The powertrain on t eh toy car comes with two hydrogen-absorbing metal hydride cartridges called HYDROSTIK PRO that uses the hydrogen extracted from the water in the vehicle’s reservoir via the on-board HYDROFILL PRO desktop hydrogen station. The super-capacitor and the HYDROSTIKs are designed to complement each other in the same way that the technology does in actual fuel cell run vehicles.

The super capacitors help the toy car accelerate while lowering the torque load on the fuel cells. In turn, the fuel cells provide lasting power to the super capacitors. The two power sources are automatically switched on need via an onboard controller. The toy car is fitted with a Bluetooth video camera equipped with LED lighting system that is created to relay real-time video feed to the user who controls the car via a PC, tablet or smartphone. The company hasn’t revealed the pricing scheme for the toy RC car and when the H-Rover would hit toy stores though we’re sure geeks would line up in streets overnight to procure one of these.
