America is littered with beautiful natural surroundings, from mountain ranges, through to sandy beaches – the country has it all. The best of these can be found within any of the 58 National Parks that run from coast to coast and everywhere in between. Although practically everyone single one would make a great place to camp, some of our favorites are listed below.

Acadia National Park, Maine

Despite the campground being located on the mainland, it is a world away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. A night or two here will leave you feeling like you are the only person in the forest.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina

Just outside of Bryson City in North Carolina is the Deep Creek Campground. Here you are able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful Deep Creek. From here it is just a short walk to a stunning 80 foot cascade of water known as Juney Whank Falls. The rivers around Deep Creek are great for spotting salamanders with the kids or a spot of trout fishing.

Biscayne National Park, Florida

The juxtaposition from the sprawling metropolis of one of America’s largest cities to the beautiful natural surroundings is awe inspiring. It is best to visit in either the spring, fall or winter when the temperatures are not too high.

Take a step off of the beaten path and head to Huginnin Cove for a true camping experience. This small rustic campsite based on the north shore of Lake Superior, on Isle Royale is both visually stunning and beautifully quiet. Campers often state sightings of moose and other wild animals.

Deep in the wilds of Minnesota lies the lesser known Voyageurs National Park. Concentrated around 4 tranquil lakes, you will find family friendly campsites dotted on the many islands there. For the quietists spots, head to Loyden or Quill.
