Then place the container in a sunny spot, preferably on the kitchen windowsill. Ingredients:Orange rinds, water
What else you need: Safety goggles, waterproof gloves, paring knife, saucepan with a lid, stove, potholders, bowl, strainer, funnel, spray bottle.
Another method to make orange oil cleaner is to remove the white portion from the orange rinds and cut the orange portion into smaller parts, into 1 inch or smaller pieces.
Place the rinds in the saucepan filled with water and boil the rinds. After the water starts boiling, bring it down to simmer. After 5 minutes, remove the orange solution from the stove and cover it with a lid. Once you let the rind solution soak for 24 hours, a wonderful orange oil will be created. Pour the mixture through a strainer and throw away the used rind pieces.
DIY orange vinegar
Ingredients: Citrus fruit peel (peels of one lemon, one grapefruit and two oranges) and white vinegar
Trim away the pith of the peels (the white portion) and place them inside a glass container. Then cover the peels with white vinegar, and let the mixture sit for at least 2 weeks. Once the color of the vinegar and citrus peels turns into a deep orange and smells of oranges, it means your DIY orange vinegar is ready. Some people shake the jar to speed up the process.
