We all have had enough of unique and extremely helpful green gadgets and technologies, so now it is time to have a good dose of some bizarre and strange green inventions. Here are some of the eco-friendly inventions that do have a good motto but they somehow appear to be weird and strange.
Speakers with Built-in Planters
Many people find this invention bizarre but I personally have a liking for it. These audio equipments, the speakers first look ultra modern and they have small planters built in them. They are made of eco-plastic, and the small planters in them help add a natural and an organic look to the home décor. The lightweight speakers are easy to shift and assemble, and have a superb sound quality.
Battery powered by sweat
This battery is especially designed for intensive workouts after which your body sweats a lot. The tattoo like battery you are supposed to attach to your body and your sweat fuels it. It sounds gross, but that can probably be forgiven for its eco-friendliness. The lactate in your sweat is the major power ingredient that powers this unique and somewhat weird battery.
Green Warrior shower curtain
Green Warrior curtains are shower curtains that have a eco-theme, i.e. stop water wastage and do your bit to conserve water. The shower curtain has inflatable spikes that automatically inflate when you waste a lot of water while taking shower by spending extra unnecessary time inside. The spikes inflate and start poking you, reminding you that water is being wasted. The aim and the motto of the Warrior Curtain are ideal as it convinces a person to stop water wastage but the design of the spikes inflating and poking is funny.
Your own Grass Furniture
You cannot make furniture on your own because you are not a carpenter but you can certainly make Grass Furniture on your own. Purves & Purves is a contemporary design firm based in London that had come up with a green invention, i.e. the green furniture. The pre designed cardboard armchair frames you get with a package of grass seeds. You place the frames in your lawn and then fill it with soil and sprinkle the grass seeds over it. Wait and watch the grass grow covering the entire frame, leaving armchairs full of grass. The idea is weird but looks good in a way.
White Goat
This green invention is one of the most talked about inventions that seems to have equal “for & against” votes. People who support it believe that the machine puts waste paper into reuse, and the ones against it believe that it converts normal paper into a toilet paper. Once you insert around 40 sheets of paper into the machine, it shreds it inside, dissolves it in water, dries it and makes a roll of it in about 30 minutes.
Moss Carpet
Moss carpet is yet another bizarre green invention that claims to add a green factor to your bathroom. It is a living bathroom mat and consists of three types of moss – the island moss, forest moss, and ball moss. The mat is made of decay-free recycled latex foam. You can place the mat in any other place also if you want but bathroom seems to be the most viable space owing to its moist and damp condition that is of great help for moss to survive.
Some creative designers do happen to come up with some funny and weird green inventions but as far as the product is solving the green purpose, its funny appearance or a somewhat weird concept does not come in its way.
