1. Yuji fujimura’s electric bike concept
Resembling a white MacBook, it has a slot for storing a laptop and is an electric assist, battery powered bike. This was created by NYC designer, Yuji Fujimura and may yet catch the imagination of the consumers. The laptop is powered by the battery and can be connected to built in screen on the steering, enabling the rider access to all required information.
2. Bike 2.0: New korean concept electric bike
This comes in a very sleek design and based on the Bike 2.0 concept of an electric powered mechanism. The design concept is from South Korea ensuring a faster ride and a futuristic look. Instead of a regular chain, the bike has a generator and wires and the battery is located on the seaport, assisting the user in paddling with a super conductor like device. The motor of the bike is placed on the rear wheels and it comes with stepless gears.
3. Sweet concept electric commuter bike from nishiki
This bicycle is almost akin to features available in motorcycles and designed by Fredrik Rudenstam of Nishiki Urban Commute Concept. Using a system based on ball bearings to change gear, it has an all carbon frame using the Nuvinci rear hub, which switches cadence, speed and power automatically. There is unlimited gearing possibilities for the rider and the bike is powered by lithium ion battery. This enables the user minimal effort on uphill rides. It has front and rear integrated LED lights powered by the battery. It is low maintenance with a belt drive system and has been given a good paint job for a sweet look.
4. HMK 561 carbon fiber electric bicycle concept
This has won an iFDesign Award for the forward thinking concept by Ralf Kittmann. Using an excellent conductor of electricity made out of conductive carbon filter, the HMK 561 can store energy as a capacitor. In each mobile connection of mechanism, the energy is obtained by converting the mechanical energy into electrical energy. The lights and engine are fed by the resulting energy.
5. Robardy design and dk city unfolds future of electric bikes
The concept dbO folding electric bicycle showcased at Eurobike 09 in Germany, is a series of three bicycles that Robrady has designed for DK and is their first foray into the market for electric bicycle. To ease the problem of transportation, this concept designed by Thorsten Wickert lets you carry your bike up the stairs, employment area or flat for safe parking. The center of rotation is focused on the pedal unit in this folding mechanism. There is no chain and the battery is charged by the hub motor which moves the pedal. This concept is already utilized in hybrid cars to produce electricity through generation of energy from the gas engine. A gear shift in the bike is simulated through an electric control which changes resistance while pedaling. The external power is reduced when more electricity is generated in a higher gear.
7. Futuristci london garden foldable electric bicycle
This is an innovative transportation system combining a bike and bus including the supporting infrastructure by London garden. The energy generated when riding the bike can be used as currency saved for bus rides. It has a bike stand under the bus seat storage and the bike electronically folds up. This is weight efficient and space saving mode of transport. The bikes are stored at the bike stands at the bus stops where it can collect energy from the wind and sun securely. The energy built up during riding is stored in inner batteries which can contribute energy to the bus system. This is by Diana Lumbrasyo and electrically designed for the future inspired by the classic Penny Farthing design. This is powered by a battery and is basically a simple and straight bicycle with a disproportionately longer wheel on the front end.

On fully charged batteries, the electric motor can run 85 Kms on a flat road but with pedaling combined, there is an increase in distance covered. It can also convert magnetic energy into kinetic energy using the phenomena of magnetostriction.
