Both bat and tree surveys are usually required when planning to develop or building on land or property. Bat surveys involve a two stage process to identify whether bats inhabit a property or not, and the second stage can only be conducted during the warmer months. It’s particularly important to get bat surveys done quickly as phase 2 of the survey, the emergence phase, which involves a 7-12 day observation period, can only be done from May till September.
