Bizarre creations made using hair

We have all heard of several items created out of hair. However, some creations literally take the cake when it comes to creativity and ingenuity. Here are five such hairy creations that have actually managed to stump us.

The Dog Hair Wool

If you have a dog that sheds a lot of hair, consider yourself lucky. For all you need to do is collect this hair and send it to DoumeJalat-Dehen in Brittany who would return back a ball of wool made from the same hair you sent her. Doume makes wool from dog hair and has a huge list of esteemed clients from around the world. These clients save the hair that comes off while brushing their pets and collect it over a period of several years before sending it to Doume who then creates woolen sweaters with it. Talk about wearing the same coat of fur as your dog while you walk him/her.

The Hairy Dress

Several Asian artists tend to use human air in their creations. Vietnam based hairdresser Kim Do decided to use human hair to create a special, tunic like dress. Kim collected the material for the dress from almost 55 different people from around the country. The result is 1 million meters of human hair that sewn artistically to create a beautiful dress with nothing but a needle. The design on the front depicts a brown colored dragon also made out of hair. The dress comes with a hat (made of hair again) which has a design depicting the country’s famed Turtle Tower.

Hair Made Obama Sculpture

The Chinese often come up with some interesting ideas to welcome foreign delegates. But this one is a classic for sure. In order to commemorate President Barrack Obama’s visit to his country, Huang Xin, a hairstylist by profession, created a mini sculpture of the American president using nothing but 4 kg human hair. It tool Huang all of seven days and nights to complete the sculpture. And the end result was a spellbinder for sure.

Hairy Wedding Dress

Thelma Madine, an English designer joined hands with a Liverpool based hair salon called Voodou to create a unique wedding dress made out human hair. The designers used over 200 meters of hair extensions, thousands of hair pieces and wefts, 12 underskirts and 1500 crystals to create this humongous, color filled gown which they feel, would be a perfect ‘hair match’ for Lady Gaga.

Hairy Stairway

Located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the creepy looking ‘Hairy Stairway’ is a part of the abandoned Mountainaire Hotel. Designed and developed by Jessica Wohl, the staircase is covered entirely of human hair. The result is a spooky stairway that looks as if it has been taken right from a horror movie.
