Ferrari’s new powerful hybrid car

When we talk about a hybrid car, we usually associate it with gas sipping. However, if the Italian super car maker Ferrari has decided to launch its most powerful car as a hybrid, there is a possibility of this being the future of the automobile industry. This car is to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show to be held in January.

At approximately 900 horsepower and pairing a V12 with an electric motor, this car is all set to replace the limited edition Enzo. Ferrari is working on a fiber chassis-body that will cut weight by 20 percent as compared to the 1,365 kg (3,010 lb) of the Enzo. Therefore, this car should weigh about the same as the Enzo. Its V12 gasoline-engine will share the power producing duties with its electric motor which will drive the rear wheels of the car.

The automaker stated last month at the Paris Motor Show that the Ferrari would launch its first hybrid car shortly. However, there was no mention of the time frame, nor were any details such as model name divulged. The “yet to be named” new comer to the Ferrari’s legendary stable of handsome, prancing horses is believed to be the most powerful car that the Italian automaker ever produced. There are some reports which say that this car would be called as the F70.

Ferrari had hinted that one of the striking factors of this model would be its green factor. This would not only cut the company’s fleet wide green house gas emissions but would also directly contribute to saving the depleting fossil fuels to a certain extent. For now, the powerful hybrid car from Ferrari is very promising and much to look forward to.
