- The CIS Tower in Manchester, England: Covered in glass, this skyscraper is the largest vertical solar power project in the U.K. There are about 7,000 solar panels and 24 wind turbines installed in this 387-foot long building. It has the capability to produce around 180,000 kWh of energy per year.
- The Bahrain World Trade Center in Manama, Bahrain: This wonderfully designed center is around 787-foot high complex of twin towers. Three years ago, this twin tower was created by Atkins. It is the first skyscraper in the world that has three integrated wind turbines. These together generate clean energy to fulfill up to 15% of the power need of both towers.
- The Bank of America Tower in Manhattan, NYC, USA: This 1,200-foot long structure is one of the greenest in the world. The $1 billion building uses insulating glass from floor to ceiling. This helps in maintaining heat and providing maximum light inside the building. There is also an automatic daylight dimming system, as well as a rainwater harvesting system installed in the building. The whole tower is made using recycled or recyclable materials. Even the concrete used in building was manufactured from the slag from blast furnaces. The inside has waterless urinals and works on a special cooling system.
