Glass jars are the most versatile of raw material when it comes to crafting things out of them, or reusing them in brand new ways. You can put all your old glass jars to use in new ways – you can make décor items or reuse them for household purposes. Using mason jars as chandeliers is an innovative idea for sure. You’ll need a few mason jars, cord kits and lights which you can fit inside the jar. Cut a hole in the lid to pass the wire through and hang it from a fixture in the ceiling and attach to a light source. This is a great lighting arrangement for your home’s  outdoor, especially the patio.

Etched glasses

You don’t have to know how to etch to make beautiful etched glasses out of glass bottles. Just use an etching solvent on the glass to create your special etched glasses, which are not just décor items, but can be used too. You can wash them and use them whenever you want to.

An inexpensive way to design a glass vase is by using washi tape. If you have to decorate for a big occasion, but are short of funds, just buy washi tape rolls, and stick them around glass jars to make elegant or fun or patriotic glass vases, suiting the occasion. Ask friends or family and/ or kids to join you in making these vases.

The glow of the light of fireflies is special indeed. Chasing after fireflies has been one favorite childhood memory, though we always let them go. Now create a faux firefly effect in a glass container using fluorescent paint and buttons, and keep your childhood memories alive.

Festive candles

Make some festival candles with a glass jar, olive or almond oil, metal lid, pure cotton wick, pinecones, stones, crystals, cranberries, holly, mistletoe, and so on. Put all the decorative things in the glass jar, make a hole in the lid with a nail and hammer, and fill the jar with the oil. Put in the wick holder and wick and your fabulous festive candle is ready for use.
