Some are made of salvaged materials, while others boast eco-friendly installations. They all have one purpose in common, they are homes that leave minimal impact on the surroundings. Small sustainable house by Arkin Tilt

The Arkin Tilt architects designed this sustainable home in the east of Nevada City in California. A small house that looks pretty but nothing else seems astounding about it until you come to know of its sustainable design. The architects worked very hard to give it a design that could satisfy all its energy needs on its own. They used solar panels, straw-bale walls, concrete flooring, and a solar heating system to make the structure one of the best sustainable structures that exists on this planet.

Micro-Compact Home

Apt for students, scientists, and weekend vacationers, the micro compact home is an ideal solution for short-term living. It proves the point – less is more right, as house is equipped with all amenities that are of micro size. The double bed on the upper level, and a working space cum dining table on the lower level makes this tiny cube an ideal place to live.

These tiny movable cubes can form an entire society of micro mobile dwellings. You can carry them to a trip, and living in it in neat and clean conditions can make your trip even more memorable. From the environmental point of view, when you will use these homes as your camp, you will certainly reduce your carbon footprint at the camping site.

Floating House

A mobile home designed by Dymitr Malcew has a special purpose to serve, i.e. to provide people with a mobile structure that can be taken to different locations that leaves a minimal impact of the environs. The floating house is especially designed to offer its users to experience ultimate water retreats. Its special glass design provides people outstanding outside views.

The rooms have direct access to the attached terrace, and the base of the structure is made of a buoyant platform that makes it float on different water surfaces with quite an ease, as in water movements or uneven water surface do not interfere much with its floating capacity. The calm and beautiful indoor environment receives maximum day light coming in through the glass windows, doors and roof.

The Zig Zag Cabin

Designed by an Australian architect Drew Heath, the Zig-Zag cabin is a perfect example of eco-friendly salvage constructions. Made using salvaged plywood panels installed in a zig-zag manner gives this tiny home located on a steep slope a unique appearance. There are big glass windows that enables person sleeping in the tiny sleeping loft inside to enjoy spectacular views outside. The rainwater collection system and a composting toilet are some interesting green features designer has managed to add to this tiny home.

Ufogel

Ufogel is a tiny vacation house in Austria, which provides people to live with utmost comfort while enjoying the ultimate natural beauty around. Besides its capacity to make people’s vacation interesting, what makes Ufogel so interesting is its unique geometric shape made of larch wood. You see it from different angles, and you will see a different shape every time.

Gypsy Junker

This tiny house is just 24 sq ft wide and is made of waste products, such as shipping pallets and others. This cute little house makes the saying seem so right that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
