I replaced the original batteries in my Gateway T-1620 and T-1621 laptops with 6600maH batteries to get a little longer time when on battery. However, after the first use the batteries would not recharge. It says it’s charging but the charge level never comes off 0%. Then all it once it says “not charging”. Why are replacement batteries for my Gateway laptop not charging? Is the larger battery drawing too much current and overheating the charger until it cuts out? If so, is there anything I can do to fix the problem? If I put the smaller batteries in they charge fine, although those batteries don’t last long. Please advice. Thanks.
