He is a green architect and a humanitarian who has worked his entire life to find easy and economical solutions to the problems of homelessness and hunger. Thom Mayne:

He is the 2005 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner and the founder of California based architectural firm Morphosis. He is known to have a focus on innovating new structural designs that are eco friendly and are sustainable. After the destruction caused by hurricane Katrina, Mayne in collaboration with Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation made a “Float House”- it can raise up to 12 feet in case of floods.

Renzo Piano:

He is an Italian architect who is widely known as the most dominant green architects today. One of his much-admired buildings is the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The museum has a planetarium, aquarium, and national history museum. The building has a phenomenal 2.5-acre green, living roof that soaks around 7.6 million liters of annual rainwater. Another eco friendly feature of this building is that there are no air conditioners. Weather sensors are installed which automatically open and shut the windows so that the building gets cool air from outside.
