4. Whittier organic food center
The idea for Whittier organic food center has been conceptualized by Daniel Toole that will be capable of producing food for the urban dwellers, but not at the cost of ecological means. It will utilize wind, water and solar power to yield farm fresh organic products. Without the involvement of tractors and other farm vehicles and subsequent carbon dioxide emissions and also eliminating harmful chemicals and fertilizers, the population will get healthy food.
5. Modular vertical farm
This commercial and urbanized farm is the concept of designer duo Michaela Dejdarova and Michal Votuba. A group of tetrahedron structures will be clubbed together to make the exoskeleton of this vertical farm. This will support acres of green patches within the city. This structure can be fully unassembled and shifted to any place.
6. Beehive vertical farm
Beehive structure of this vertical farm is the pride of the Londoners living on the banks of river, Thames. Developed by the Mexican firm Xome Arquitectos, this vertical farm looks like an upright beehive, covered with thick blanket of greenery. Attached with a residential complex, this structure collects rainwater, produces energy and grows edible vegetation.
7. The dragonfly
This vertical firm resembles the wing of a giant dragonfly. Built by Vincent Callebaut, this 600 meters tall eco farm is a part of New York’s skyline. The massive structure comprises of 132 floors that in turn support twenty eight different types of agricultural farms that grow fruits, vegetables, cereals, etc, and produce dairy products too. There are also spaces for offices, shops, housing, etc, inside this structure.
8. Sustainable vertical farm concept
VEIL or the Victorian Eco Innovation Lab apprehended the drawbacks of the prevalent systems of vertical gardening that are based on indoor farming. So they built this vertical farm that encourages plants to grow on the principles of hydroponics. Thus, the structure comprises of large floor plates that absorb air and sunlight throughout the day and use it for farming. This vertical farming structure is also inclusive of offices, café, laboratories, etc.
9. Futuristic london bridge
The idea of this unique vertical farm was proposed by the company Chetwood Architects. They said that the London bridge will be modified to become a vertical farm overlooking the Thames. Equipped with solar panels and exposed to natural air, water and ventilation, this structure will emerge as a self contained unit.
10. Vertical farm eco city
Eco city vertical farm is a step ahead by not only promoting self sustaining farming, but also giving the urban people a chance to take part in the amusement of farming. This towering architectural splendor also houses eateries, an amusement park powered by wind energy, a bio gas recycling plant and a farm, which supports the eateries inside this eco city with its own yields.
