Robert Tornello, a true environmentalist, has chosen a farm to express his love for Mother Nature. Named after his three sons, the 3 Boys Farm comes as a beautiful way of reducing the environmental impact. In this 10-acre farm in Hillsborough, healthy food is grown using with renewable energy, recycled water and absolutely no pesticides. The insect nets surrounding the greenhouses prevent the insects from spoiling the crops.

The air-conditioning of the spaces are maintained by using large fans that not only keep the buildings cool, but also exhausts out energy which is captured again to convert into power. This farmer also captures, purifies and stores 60,000 gallons of rainwater. He soon plans to install windmill and solar panels that will bring down the present $3,000 bill to around $300 to $500 each month. With this green effort, Robert hopes to produce healthy, affordable and fresh food for the people living in the Bay Area.
