Different artists have come up with some really interesting, innovative and creative concepts of recycling trash. The junk items used for the process can be anything starting from bicycles to cellphones. 1. Very Hungry God
The Very Hungry God is a great recycled art sculpture made by Subodh Gupta of India, way back in 2006. This piece of art which resembles a human skull made its debut in Paris. But, today it is owned by a French Billionaire called Francois Pinault. Pinault is a businessman who boasts of a huge collection of contemporary art from different parts of the world.
This unique sculpture has been created by putting together stainless steel kitchen utensils of different sizes and shapes.
2. Trash People
Trash People were created by the famous artist HA Schult in 1996 and is considered to be one of the largest displays of recycled art worldwide. These 1000 trash men have been made out of discarded plastic, aluminum cans and computer parts. Schult took more than 6 months for completing this spectacular project and was helped by 30 assistants in the process.
The Trash People have been exhibited in different famous locations of the globe including Pyramids of Egypt, Great Wall of China, La Grande Arche in Paris and New York to name a few.
3. Bike Arch
The Bike Arch is an amazing example of recycled art sculpture constructed by Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector. This sculpture was created few years back in Black Rock Desert, NV. This arch is a project assigned to Mark Grieve to form an entrance to a bike parking area and for this Grieve chose the Black Rock Desert as his location which is famous for housing the annual Burning Man Project.
Approximately 300 bicycles were used for the project and these were collected from different nonprofit bicycle organizations like Trips for Kids, Marin, Community Bikes, Santa Rosa and Bici Centro, Santa Barbara.
4. Patchwork Dog
The amazing Patchwork Dog has been designed by the internationally acclaimed artist Robert Bradford with the help of recycled toys. This colorful artwork used hundreds of different toys as its different parts. Bradford has many sculptures to his credit and he took his inspiration from a box of his children’s toys. He then turned these toys into some creative and fun-filled sculptures for sale. Some of his works were sold for up to (US) $19,000.
5. Moby the Frog
Artist Anthony Wilson of the United Kingdom created this unique artwork called Moby the Frog which debuted at the WWT London Wetland Center in The Love London Recycled Sculpture Show on the 4th of June, 2009.
Wilson made this sculpture out of some recycled cellphones donated to him by a company called Regenersis which deals in recycling materials.
