The houses measuring 12×3 are stacked vertically such that the roof of one acts as the living space for the one above it. Grounded on the basis of four posts, with two flaps, one at the front and back each, the houses provide an obvious protection from storm waters. Each residence is a modular space with environment friendly equipments and arrangement installed in it. Solar electric production is programmed in such a manner that it utilizes a minimal scale of energy and optimizes autonomy. These houses have been specifically designed keeping in mind the various financial and livelihood constraints of the marginal communities of Brazil.
Facilities are abound. Among them are the ones of solar water heating and sewage treatment. The houses are built in clusters which would encourage community interactions.
