If your answer to any of these questions is in affirmative, then this article will be of special interest for you as a London based wedding designer, Sanyukta Strestha, has her own line of wedding gowns, dresses, hats and other couture made from sustainable fabrics like hemp silk, bamboo. organic silk, soy, banana, etc. Most of the raw material is being handwoven by women artisans of Nepal.

While most of the raw material for her creations are sourced from foothill of Himalayas, other things which are not are also procured from ethical and fair trade certifies manufacturers in either England or elsewhere. While Shreshtha’s creations are eco friendly, they are not expensive as most eco friendly things are supposed to be. Even if you have a reasonable budget for your wedding gown and other things and you want to buy something eco friendly, you can easily walk into her store and can find many things that suits your taste and pocket. Besides, Shreshtha is creative enough to make each piece a multi functional wear, from which you can create at least two different looks besides that of wedding dress.

The budding designer chose to work with Nepalese artisans and Nepalese raw material because of her familiarity with Nepal. She grew up in Nepal and during her growing days saw the Nepalese women striving hard for meeting both ends and at the same time creating magical pieces of designs and fabrics. After Shreshta enrolled for London college of Fashion, she garnered enough knowledge about fabrics and raw material available in Nepal and to use later as a designer. All the creations by her are vivid examples of the characteristics of the fibers used and are a tribute to natural and eco friendly fibers for being so elegant and different.
