The ‘green’ revolution has flooded the market with green products and recyclable products is a big category amongst them. Origami recyclable lamp is one such innovation, made by folding a forex sheet. Origami is the traditional Japanese art. The term is a blend of ‘ori’ meaning ‘folding’, and gami (kami) meaning ‘paper’ (plain sheet). The lamp is the brainchild of Salvador Bruhernández and is made out by folding a white flat sheet of forex.
The design is very symmetrical and is pleasing to the eyes. The white color looks very elegant and a CFL is used as a lighting source, which further enhances the lamp’s utility of being an eco-friendly object.
The lamp is suitable for both domestic and office purpose, and its USP is that it’s entirely recyclable. The lamp also comes with a wire of adequate length and an on-off push button, and a connector to plug in to the power source.
The designer’s concept is highly innovative – since it’s a folding lamp, it’s easy to carry. The idea of making it out of recyclable materials is a benefit. The designer also brings back the charm of the Japanese artwork to life.
