Pop goes the weasel! Well, there is no weasel popping happening here. The only thing which has popped is the pop tabs on endless cans. The pop tabs have proved to be the designer’s weaving material. For an artist to vent out their creative juices, almost anything would do. Ask young designer Maura Pozek who is the proud designer of the pop tab prom dress.
Making her father proud of her creation, Maura weaved a dress out of a multitude of pop tabs. Weaving them into fabric and ribbons, she was able to recreate a designer dress out of the discarded material. Fused into the fabric, while at the same time, lending the dress a unique shine, she has been able to weave out a masterpiece from these pop tabs. Beauty knows no bounds and honestly, the dress is a complete stunner. The ideas some people come up with are just mind blowing.
Using 400 yards of ribbon, 4000 pop tabs and with ounces of patience to sit and devote endless number of hours to create the dress, Maura has indeed done a commendable job. Her hard work has paid off, for she has not only created a beautifully woven prom dress, but her creation has also been recognized and applauded by the local press. It goes without a mention that the dress belongs to a class of its own, and the pride it has brought her father is well worth the time and labor spent.
As the proud parent, I watched my 16 year old daughter surrounded by her laptop, a Netflix subscription, and cellphone (for that all important texting), labor over this work of art.” – Steve Pozek
I’m sure that the girls would not help but swoon over the dress, while the few jealous ones would engage into a cat fight, trying to claw their way into this dress. Way to go Maura, you have got the balls rolling and the cans popping.
