Two-headed turtle:
Nature creates things which at times leave humans in a state of surprise as well as deep thought. A unique two-headed tortoise came to life in Slovakia, which is something like Siamese twins. Though it is nothing new, such a tortoise is not a common sight. The condition where a creature is born with two heads is called Polycephaly. The rare tortoise has been named Magdalena, in which Magda is the left head and Lena the right. If this condition is to be scientifically explained, it arises when the embryos don’t break up the right way during pregnancy.
The cute-looking living thing besides having two heads also has five legs. Magdalena has gained a lot of popularity and just like Paul the Octopus it will predict the winners of Ice Hockey Championships that will take place in Slovakia. Scientists feel that chances of its survival in their natural habitat are low as they would not be accepted by other tortoises. Well, Magdalena is fortunate enough to be born in confinement, and, if it is lucky, the cute creature will survive shunning all beliefs.
Interesting characteristic:
Since both heads have their own nervous system, it will confuse the tortoise further as they may not know what to do or where to go. Each head works in its own way as an individual since the tortoise has two brains. This at times poses difficulty when it is moving from one place to the other. However, the most distinct part about this tortoise being that unlike many it has two heads and five legs.
