The US state of Ohio is reaping vast benefits from the largest solar farm facility in the state with the establishment of the PSEG Wyandot Solar Farm in the Wyandot County Airport in Upper Sandusky. The solar farm spread over 80 acres of county-owned land has been installed with 159,200 solar panels made by First Solar of Perrysburg. These solar panels harness solar energy to generate 12 million watts, or 12 megawatts, of electricity. The power production capacity overshoots the requirements of the county to power more than 9,000 homes outside it. The project has also reduced dependence on agriculture by creating alternate sources of livelihood, and many farmers have now been employed as solar installers.
