The design house Zigloo, while it aims at finding sustainable solutions to existing building technologies and lowering the carbon footprint of its constructions, has been using shipping containers as architectural building blocks for long. Keeping up the good work, the creatives propose to erect an environmentally friendly, residential/commercial building from shipping containers in San Francisco. The concept eco-home, dubbed as Stac-Haus: San Francisco, will serve as both a community-learning center and an economic housing for local schoolteachers.
Once the project overcomes political and legal hurdles, you’ll see it flaunting rainwater harvesting technology, solar hot water heaters, solar energy storage, reused wood construction and reclaimed solar glazing.
