Roberts unveils second solar-powered digital radio

solardab 2

After the success of the SolarDAB, Roberts is back with its second solar-powered digital radio. The recently unveiled SolarDAB 2 is an improvement over the previous one with added features like FM radio and battery charger functions. It comes equipped with a solar panel that captures solar energy to power rechargeable batteries. During cloudy days you could operate the radio using three standard AA batteries or the included mains adaptor.

Working non-stop for 20 hours on a single charge, the SolarDAB 2 incorporates features like a LED solar level indicator, battery indicator and USB socket for future software upgrades. Available in black, white, red and green colors, this amazing radio has a line-in socket for connecting an iPod or MP3 player, a standard 3.5mm headphone socket. Apart from offering multiple presets, it lets you listen to your desired station just on the push of the ‘favorite station’ button. This portable little radio ideal for picnics and day-trips will be available online from late August 2010.
