Normally, while passing through some schools, airports or malls, our prescience pokes us to decelerate a bit. Yet how often do we slow down actually even after seeing a signboard that specifies speed limits? Well, the road signs are not visible enough to allow you a reaction time. To wipe up such excuses, a solar-powered VCalm message sign, with the highest visibility possible, has been installed on Happy Valley Road near Terramar Elementary and Happy Valley Basic schools in Peoria. As a part of the Happy Valley Road improvement project, the sign was budgeted at a cost of about $28,000.

The message boards detect vehicle speed. The board will flash the speed to inform the motorist they need to slow down.
The solar/battery installation uses PWMS LED technology that stacks high-volume high-intensity LEDs and are 50 percent more energy efficient than ordinary LED technology.
