A giant lion sculpture wins a million hearts at the World Master Balloon Championships in Florence. Dee White and Jodie Norris have been crowned the best balloonists in the world for their Ring of Fire sculpture. The six-meter-tall and five-meter-wide sculpture uses as many as 10,000 balloons. All the balloons that are supported by an aluminum frame were custom made to keep them inflated longer and treated with a substance to retain their glossy shine. In order to make sure that each one of them got an even shape, a computer-controlled air canister was used.

The duo has been creating balloon sculptures for over a decade now. After so many years of hard work and dedication, finally their efforts paid off. Jodie and Mr. White, along with their four helpers put up the whole sculpture in nearly 24 hours. Both the British artists run Essex-based Balloon Art Studio. They were given the theme of the circus to design and create the sculpture that cost them some £6,000.
