Designer Greg Chung Whan Park envisages a future where homes will grow what their inhabitants consume. So, he proposes a self-regulated residential project named Agricultural Urbanism wherefore terrace farming will seek an inclusion into modern construction.
Various crops can grow at terraces on each level. Irregularly shaped vertical farms get maximum exposure to sunlight. Moreover, the terraces serve as a natural insulating layer that keep the building cool in summers and warm in the winters. Finally, runoff is negligible and such a structure discourages pests as well.
