Now this is what I call riding down the eco-friendly lane. Bicycles made out of bamboo are the latest in the market. The latest offering in the bike market is a bike made out of bamboos and they have been created in Oakland, California. Created by Stalk Bicycles, the bike is a product which has been created by a bunch of dudes who decided to help nature by replacing the metallic parts of the bike. The bamboos are surely a concept worth exploring as it makes you feel all the more closer to nature and your surroundings.
The bikes made from bamboo weigh 4-6 lb and come equipped with a weather sealer to protect against moisture and of course, all possible means have been taken to ensure a smooth ride for the user. The bike joints have been made out of natural hemp and carbon fibers which have further been embedded in a non petroleum based resin. Not only will the frame of bike be sturdier than normal bikes, it gives the bike a very earth look at the same time.
Although, its just a bike with handlebars, a seat and wheels, but then it’s the concept which is different. It’s never too late to lend a helping hand to nature and that’s exactly what has been done by creating this bamboo bike.
Made within 4-8 weeks, the standard sized bikes would be available somewhere around May 2011. They would be costing around $800 and can be fitted with any fancy accessories as per your wish.
Line up for a ride on the bamboo bike and head nature’s way.
