Personal submarine is out and out meant for the admirers of the colorful undersea world with its exotic coral reefs and strange and wonderful aquatic life. The Personal Submarine, designed by creatives at Hammacher Schlemmer, is capable of descending up to a depth of 1,000 feet under the sea. Powered by a 120- and 24-volt battery bank, the submarine is good for up to six hours of green adventuring.
The craft is propelled by two 3-hp main thrusters and two 3-hp vertical thrusters. While submerged, four external 150-watt quart-halogen lamps illuminate the undersea world while a xenon strobe light and RF beacon alerts others of the craft’s whereabouts. Equipped with a suite of standard instrumentation including a GPS the submarine also has a VHF radio that provides surfaced communication and its underwater telephone communicates while submerged.
