The electrical time pieces in you home do not have to be a drag our ecosystem through sucking out the current from another utility or by continuously wearing down batteries that can leach caustic chemicals in to the earth.

Sometime in August, Bedol began to offer an alternative, namely their water powered clocks. It is currently available in the form of the typical digital model that is approximately five inches across and can be placed on your bed side. In place of batteries, it has a small reservoir that you can fill up with water with a little bit of salt. This creates a chemical reaction with the electrodes that are built into this reservoir creating currents that power the clock. You will have to add more salt every week.

The clocks are also available online on most retail websites and come in different colors, each one has a set of instruction that will give the right amount of water and salt that have to be added and when this has to be done.
