Chicago artists turn recycled fridges into art

It is not long since we told you about Fridge-A-Thon campaign in Arizona. Now this time, a similar, fridge recycling themed event has hit Chicago’s street. The famous Mag Mile, which connects Chicago’s Loop business district with its Gold Coast, is hosting the Fine Art Fridges exhibit, wherein you could see Chicago-artists converting refrigerators into works of art. It’s all being done to promote ComEd’s appliance recycling program.

A plaque next to each sculpture says that ComEd will pay for redundant fridges and freezers, and will ask artists to create art out of them. The exhibit will remain on view, along Michigan Avenue between Chicago Avenue and Illinois Street, through September 15.
