New York-based artist Dan Colen puts his creativity and art sense into use to explore his eco-friendly side. He has created a special installation that is an attempt to promote green public transportation, sustainability and art. Exhibited at Colette in Paris during the week of FIAC 2010, the “‘En Grève’(On Strike)” by Gagosian Gallery and Colette showcases a sculpture made using bicycles.

This site-specific work will be on display for a good seven days, after which the building material (bicycles) will return to their principal function, circulating throughout the city of Paris. After seeing the stunning piece of art, I am sure many people would ditch their carbon emitting machines for a greener alternative. This is not the first exhibition for this Rhode Island School of Art and Design graduate; his other works include the 2006 Whitney Biennial, the Royal Academy, “Defamation of Character,” and “Fantastic Politics.”
