French designer Christian Louboutain’s handbags and shoes carry a distinct style of their own. Apart from making footwear very exquisite and innovative, Louboutain has chosen to go green with his latest platform design that actually showcases trash! Aptly called the “Eurotrash Heel” this 6 inch heel and 2 inch platform slingback peeptoes are an amazing pair of eco-friendly shoes that would look absolutely stylish.
The shoes are covered with a collage-like artwork using various used tidbits like old postage stamps, sticky notes, thread pieces, used sequin work and so on – which are then coated with clear PVC which provides a glossy cover. The most appealing or maybe not-so-appealing aspect of these shoes is that no two shoes from any pair are alike – hence, each shoe is a work of art in its own right and each pair is a ‘limited edition’! These ‘Made in Italy” shoes look very chic and different with the 6″ heel displaying leopard print and the trademark red-lacquered soles, whereas 2″ platform portion has a scaly python skin look. Functionally speaking, the heels of “Eurotrash” would come out to be 4 inches only – which would be quite comfortable as well.
These platforms are pretty expensive and are priced at $ 1,095 – making “Eurotrash Heels” a very dear acquisition. So, all the fashionistas – go green with these aesthetic eco-friendly heels and create a ‘green’ fashion statement this season!
