The BLOOM, which gets power from solar energy, is a movable prefabricated dwelling model. It is designed by OlgaKalugina, an industrial designer from Moscow, Russia. The BLOOM works on renewable energy sources and facilitates hi-end living even at very far from civilization.

Portable homes are preferably smaller for transportation and larger after assembling. The BLOOM is exactly designed to meet this requirement and its lateral parts are foldable into a mere size facilitating a hassle free transportation. After reaching the destination, it can be unfolded from center to the outside, providing a huge internal space.

The house is good enough for an outdoor vacation for about a week with six members as it can accommodate all necessary equipment. It consists of similar parts of a normal house such as entrance area, kitchen, common area for dining, three private living areas. The solar panels mounted on the roof of the unit harvests energy, which is stored in batteries, to cater the power requirements of BLOOM.

Yoon has designed a mobility concept, which changes the way live and we drive.

As the space efficiency concerns are increasing with the drastic increase in population, Yoon’s design is expected to work well with its sleek customized design and eco friendly nature.

These luxury vacation portable homes are just in the form of a capsule and attachable to the roof of any building. These ‘pod homes’ are designed by ‘NAU Architecture Corporation’ and you can drop them wherever you want. They are self-sufficient to generate electricity required by using solar power and are convertible from an office to lounge or to bedroom in very less time. The transportation to the destined roof top needs streamlined to avoid a dent in your carbon saving scheme if you needed to airlift this capsule to every skyscraper you want to.

4. Fincube

What’s new

Studio Aisslinger, a German design firm developed a durable and transportable low-energy house named as Fincube. It is a produced from local wood and made 1200 meter above sea level near Bozen in Northern Italy.

The beauty of this portable dwelling unit is, its easiness to dismantle and reassemble at a new place with minimal carbon footprint, and it requires minimum soil sealing of just 2 meters. Photovoltaic panels assembled on the roof generate renewable energy for the dwelling. The supporting structure is also made from local materials and the interior features are the blend of larch and stone-pine. The entrance is having an open kitchen with an adjacent sofa living space.
