Ecosia, the world’s greenest search engine gears up to entice the eco-minded web surfers across the world. Once it goes functional on Dec 7 in over 20 countries, it will ensure that every search made with Ecosia saves 2m ² rainforest and 80% of the income generated through sponsored links provided by Yahoo and Bing goes to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The search engine will work on eco-friendly servers using Co² free water energy.
Our aim is to gain around 1% market share, which equals about 10 Million users.
Says Ecosia founder Christian Kroll as he suggests that donations made to WWF project Amazon Region Protected Area Programme (ARPA) will save Brazilian rainforests from fires and destruction. Just to maintain transparency, users can see updated stats on square meters of rainforest saved. Moreover, the search engine is free for all and is compatible with any browser.
