Benjamin Hubert, a designer based in London has created countless designs that have broken the limits of contemporary designing. He has received critical acclaim and recognition for the innovative use of materials and other industrial design.
From his sketching board has come out an awesome product that challenges modern material ideas. He has created a pendant lamp, completely eco-friendly, manufactured out of recycled cork, termed as Float. Using traditional wood working techniques, blocks of Portuguese cork are manually turned to create a hollow shade. When hit with light, the natural cork surface emits a warming glow. Although the production process creates a high volume of waste, leftover dust is regenerated into other blocks of cork for the production of more lamps.
