iPhone has just turned more eco-friendly! With the advent of solar chargers, now you can charge your iPhone without damaging the environment. The new trend of solar chargers is the best example when it comes to charge your favorite device with renewable energy. Conceived and created by folks at Brown Dog Gadgets, the convenient solar charger stores the power of the sun and delivers it to the portable fold-up packages. The Kickstarter company project is quite simple and cheap, working on three different solar arrays with three solar cells fitted inside it. It also comes equipped with a USB port that makes it easy to attach it to different gadgets.
When it comes to charging an iPhone, the five-watt model takes three hours to complete the task. It is the smallest model, which sends one amp of power at 5 volts to the USB port, and the cost is around $55. The bigger version with a cost of $70 charges the iPhone in two hours as it captures around 7 watts from the sun. The largest charger with 3-fold array extracts 10 watts and is perfectly suitable for charging an iPad and it costs around $90.
If you don’t have the time to charge your mobile device, the company came up with a solution to provide you lithium power bank of different sizes according to the arrays. These power banks allow you to store the power from the solar array, so that if it is not used in the daytime it can be used overnight. These power banks flaunt a price tag of $25. Now the company is offering products in $40 and $60 versions with two USB ports. Both these versions make the charging process four times faster than the earlier version. The most innovative part is the presence of suction cups that make it very easier for gathering sunlight from outside the windows.
