Living in times where the market is flooded with adulterated food, serious health issues can be seen cropping up. I think it’s about time we stop closing our eyes and playing with our health. There could be many alternatives to deal with the problems, let’s just consider them for once. Tim Stephens, a New Zealand-based architect has come up with an ingenious design of an urban farm where people can produce their own healthy and nutritious food.
The Huntington Urban Farm comes as a response to the lack of support for the sustainable practice of growing and cultivating one’s own food source. Situated just close to the town’s public library, church and nursery, the farm provides individualized plots of land where users can produce their own food. The farmable plots will be of different sizes to suit individual users/small families. Not only will the project offer better health to the citizens, but will also promote social activity and interaction.
