Conceived by the CEBO/Chongqing University team, the Magic Mountains is a proposed “Green” Central Business District (GCBD) in Chongqing, China, that envelops numerous undulating structures. While the towering buildings will lend a touch of sophistication to the development, passive cooling and heating will lop off the consumption of energy and resources by 22%.
The business center will rely 11% more on renewable energy than the conventional energy sources. Instead of relying on the usual modes of transportation like cars, etc., the inhabitants will prefer biking and walking (the design team assumes). The geometric hilltops – the high-density centers – will be composed of glass and steel. A vast expanse of valleys will be home to a wastewater treatment plant and renewable energy generation system.
